2026 What’s New & Let’s Review

This two-day leadership seminar prepares district and school leadership teams to understand educational research as it translates to classroom and school-based practices.   In addition to educational research, participants will learn how to support processing deficits traditionally only serviced through special education identification.  This seminar moves beyond theory with structures and strategies that can be immediately implemented.  The seminar is designed to train the trainer so that participants can follow the CSS methodology to increase literacy achievement significantly, help students meet growth targets, and reduce referrals to special education.

Agenda

  • What’s Not So Special About Special Education
    • The inside story of how the goal of specialized instruction impacts your district and how to amplify results by thinking differently
    • Research _ Past and Present _ What research aligns with high-performing districts
    • The Impact of Leadership
    • Understanding the impact of foundational skills
    • Data Trends and What They Mean

DECEMBER 2025

“I Think My Student Might Have Dyslexia.”

Each day, as Micah and I support teachers in schools, we hear this from teachers needing more information to support learners who struggle to crack the code of reading.  As we learn more and more about the process of reading acquisition, it can feel like you are drowning in a sea of information.  This one-day workshop is designed to help streamline the information and structure your literacy block for maximum student growth, especially those students who are struggling to advance.  Gain a better understanding of how movement and the central nervous system impact learning.  This learning experience intends to help you feel empowered to align your instructional practices with the foundational elements of reading.

Participants will:

  • Understand how to recognize students with processing challenges
  • Learn simple strategies to maximize instructional benefit
  • Gain knowledge of how working memory impacts learning profiles
  • Understand how to vet best research-based practices & which resources show the strongest data impact
